GIS leadership
About me
My name is Irina. After two decades working across the GIS ecosystem, institutional projects, and complex spatial environments, I reached a clear conclusion: GIS doesn’t fail at the organizational level. Instead, it gets stuck much earlier, at the professional one.
As a result, Spin-off GIS is my response to that realization.
I am currently focused on helping GIS professionals develop the language, clarity, and positioning needed to move beyond execution and into strategic influence.
How the work happens today
GIS Clarity Session: 1:1 mentoring for GIS professionals seeking guidance, career pivoting, or alignment in strategy and spatial thinking.
Career & Strategy Tools: frameworks, exercises, and resources to turn GIS expertise into structured professional growth.
Before Spin-off GIS
At the institutional layer is where my understanding of GIS was forged.
“Irina has a rare ability to go beyond execution and build solutions that support strategic leadership. She understands how to connect operational complexity with executive decision-making, which is exactly what distinguishes a true Solutions Architect. I highly recommend her to any organization seeking someone who can design systems, create clarity from complexity, and enable better decisions at the highest level.”

“Irina is an amazing resource for GIS services. She developed multiple tools and analysis for some of our more difficult and challenging projects. She also led the development of some of our new GIS deliverable packages including a web-based viewer of our 3D high voltage transmission line models. She was able to develop these tools and manage the GIS data with minimal input and instructions. She also provided verification of large amounts GIS data provided by others and curated data sets for use in the project. She also developed web-based dashboards for managing and interpreting the data on our projects, and presenting to clients. She has deep technical knowledge of GIS and a passion for it and is great to work with.”
